For Mother’s Day, Facebook set out to offer support to those giving birth in quarantine and highlight how people were using the platform to connect during this time. Droga5 drew parallels between the conditions mothers faced today and the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918-1920, with intimate footage of mothers and their newborns in 2020 side by side with mothers and their newborns then. The narrator speaks of the strength of mothers under duress, then, at the end of the film, she is revealed to be a centenarian born during the previous pandemic.
