Each one of the ten covers for Buffalo Zine’s Copy(right) issue rips off the design of ten different independent fashion magazines. “Such a radical idea and blatant copying wasn’t without its risks, but, without checking in with each magazine’s founders, the Buffalo team bit the bullet and sent off to the printers anyway,” wrote Dazed Digital. “Pretty unsurprisingly, the response was 100% positive.”
What did the judges have to say?
Buffalo gleefully plays around with form and format. They entered several issues and it just felt like: here’s a team having a huge amount of fun and really knows its industry inside out, which enables them to play with stuff while at the same time maintaining the same kind of quality.
