The Can Bar

We created the brand name ‘The Can Bar’ for a new casual dining concept in Amsterdam that serves gourmet tinned fish. The concept is inspired by Portugal’s culinary heritage, & the brightly coloured tin cans of fish form the centrepiece of the interior.
The deceptively simple name ‘The Can Bar’ does what it says on the tin (apologies for the pun). However, the verbal identity really comes alive when we seize the possibilities of using the word ‘can’ as a verb. For example, the launch campaign celebrates breaking the rules of dining etiquette: ‘You can eat with your fingers. Oh yes, you can’
