A Little Company
Graphite Pencil / Sound Design & Use of Music / Adapted Music / 2019
In “A Little Company”, a group of Elvis impersonators use Group FaceTime to heal their lonesome blues. It starts with a man dressed as Elvis sitting on a bed in a small motel room. He strums his guitar and sings a soulful lyric. On his iPhone are several FaceTime windows, each with a different Elvis. As each character sings, we see all kinds of Elvii, singing from lonely looking places all over the world. The camaraderie of singing together you can see on their faces and hear in their voices, as they belt out the final line of the song, joined by the voice of the real Elvis.
