Real Journalism Matters
Shortlist / Press & Outdoor / Press Advertising Campaigns / 2019
To dramatize the threat faced by fake news, we created visuals where members of the public are shown reading newspapers with titles that represent the sources that usually spread fake news.
This contrast between the visual tropes of reputable, published media, and the dubious source displayed on the header, would highlight how fake news can be so insidious to the mind of the reader, and the public discourse at large.
This execution is especially relevant to The Columbia Journalism Review, in that it highlights the struggle that traditional media faces against the onslaught of social media.
