In the book, old trades of Jiangsu are classified into eight categories, namely, attire, catering, home-dwelling, repair, folk crafts, craftsmanship, and games. The book, printed on rough bamboo paper as used for ancient books, is bound by hand-driven nails. The selection of the paper types inside is theme-based. The bulk of the book is printed on antique hand-made paper, its color and texture corresponding to the theme.
