To reach a new audience and promote season 2 of Billions, Kickstarter – the crowdfunding platform – was turned into a social platform. Axe Capital, the fictional company from the show, funded real world projects, helping Creators reach their goals. Creators then became evangelists for the brand, making the hashtag #BackedByAxe a social media rallying cry.
