Visual Identity conducted by Sir Simon Rattle
Wood Pencil / Branding / Branding Schemes/Medium Organisation / 2017
Despite a history and reputation of being progressive, the London Symphony Orchestra weren’t standing out in a sector of traditional classical music identities. With the arrival of renowned conductor Sir Simon Rattle and inspired by the LSO conductor logo we created an identity using motion capture of Rattle conducting. Working with a digital artist, the data was interpreted to reflect the emotion of the music and the passion of the orchestra’s playing. The motion forms a series of expressions for the first season, alongside custom typography that reflects Rattle’s fluid and angular movements.
