APPLE+ Learning to Design, Designing to Learn

Award: Yellow Pencil

Yellow Pencil / Spatial & Experiential Design / Exhibition Design / 2016

"APPLE" is an exhibition about an original educational programme by Ken Miki who teaches at Osaka University of Arts. The concept is "noticing awareness”; discovering "awareness" through designing ways of thinking, making, conveying, and learning, by repeating observation and imagination through an apple, a fruit familiar to everyone. The display, divided into fourteen chapters, explains the difference between perception and awareness noticed by deconstructing an “apple.” The concept of the exhibition is designed to let those who wonder "what is design?" to experience its joy and profundity.
