The New $10
Graphite Pencil / Creativity for Good (White Pencil) / Advertising & Marketing Communications - Not for Profit / 2016
In 2015, the Unites States Treasury announced its first-ever social media campaign inviting the public to send in their ideas around the first bill to feature a woman.
The problem is women in America are still far from equal as they're paid much less for the same work as men. Seeing an opportunity to hijack the conversation, the AAUW submitted their own redesign. Instead of a woman's face on a 10 dollar bill we created a woman's face on a bill worth 7.8 dollars, indicating the wage gap. Pay equity immediately took over #TheNew10 conversation.
