The Salvation Army has served Hong Kong for over 80 years, with its recycling programme one of its key services. The Hong Kong people's increasingly busy lives make packing and donating unwanted goods inconvenient. With a decreased recycling rate creating 217 tonnes of daily fabric waste, the Salvation Army had to make donating easier. Collaborating with Crown Logistics and Leo Burnett Hong Kong, they created the Gift Box. Leo Burnett printed traditional moving boxes with the words 'keep' and 'gift' on the covers. Crown distributed the boxes. When you pack, boxes of wanted items are folded to 'keep', and are delivered to your new address. Boxes of unwanted items are folded to 'gift', and are sent to the Salvation Army. The PDF file for the box design was made available for all logistics companies to print onto their existing moving boxes. The recycling rate increased by 40%.
