We Compost Weekend
Wood Pencil / White Pencil - Creativity for Good / Advertising & Marketing Communications - Brand / 2015
Over 40% of the waste Auckland sends to landfill is organic. This would be worth almost $20 million a year if it was turned into compost. We Compost is a waste collection business that sees the potential in Auckland's food scraps. To help them keep more organic waste out of our landfills, people need to see their banana peels and apple cores not as waste, but as something of value. DDB New Zealand created a weekend where Auckland's organic waste became a currency. They designed compostable bags for people to collect their food scraps in at home. Then, for two days, they could use the bags to pay for goods and services at businesses throughout the city, including restaurants and cafes.
