The United Nations Mine Action Service is a non-profit organisation which aims to provide relief to mine-affected areas through the combination of awareness efforts and mine detection and removal. On International Mine Awareness Day 2014, Critical Mass New York staged an exhibition with photographer Marco Grob in the New Museum in NYC. Visitors were guided by Sweeper, a bespoke app, and the exhibit was rigged with 'digital mines'. When triggered, participants were startled with an audio replication of an explosion, which led to an educational component and a direct link allowing viewers to donate via text message.
