In the electronic world he inhabits, Powell's music is instantly recognisable for its abrasive sounds and arid production. The sleeve for his latest record, commissioned by his label Diagonal, had to become as recognisable as the music itself. The resulting work is a device for Powell, a mark that can be adapted for future releases and communications. It's an expression of Powell's music in type - bold, mischievous and distinct - and resembles the artist peering down at others from a height.
