Get Back, Tōhoku.
Wood Pencil / Crafts for Design / Photography for Design / 2015
In 2011, the T_hoku region of Japan was devastated by the strongest earthquake ever to hit the country, which brought with it a tsunami with waves of up to ten metres. In an attempt to entice tourists back to the region, Dentsu created a campaign that hailed its local trains as heroes. The first joy of travel is in boarding a vehicle. As soon as we do and it begins to take us to our destination, an ordinary day turns into an extraordinary moment. Dentsu's celebratory campaign brought the joy of travel back to a ravaged region and inspired tourists to return, too.
