Rumpus Room is the rooftop bar at Mondrian London, a boutique luxury hotel which opened on the Southbank in 2014. In producing an identity for Rumpus Room, the aim was to capture the spirit of the Jazz Age and the Bright Young Things, a nickname given to young socialites in 1920s London. To reflect that rich visual territory in a contemporary way, Magpie Studio tastefully referenced Art Deco. At the heart of the identity is a series of surreal illustrations inspired by artist and designer Erté and seminal fashion photographer George Hoyningen-Huene. Elements of the master illustration were isolated and used across the bars menus and collateral. Tom Dixon mentioned in original description. Not listed in credits.
