The Rhino Stamp Project
Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Posters (Graphic Design) / 2014
More than two rhinos are killed in South Africa every day, because their horns sell on the black market for over US$60000 per kilogram. We needed to create something that could be sent directly to the people buying and using rhino horn that would also speak directly to them. So we turned postage stamps into our new medium. The usual breathtaking imagery was replaced with the carnage that poachers leave behind. A message in Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai reading: “say no to rhino horn” was included on each stamp. We then used our stamps to make up posters, rallying the public to take action.
