Brothers in Arms – Bank Job
Graphite Pencil / Direct / Direct Response/Digital / 2014
B.I.A. is a mentoring charity in NZ. To start a conversation with potential corporate sponsors, we targeted the company CFO. We made a series of $1 deposits into the accounts of top Kiwi businesses. These linked on the company bank statement to form a message. Since the message couldn’t balance against any invoice, it became an impossible to ignore reconciling error which had to be resolved. The easiest way to do this was simply to return our money. To do that, they had to call us, where we closed the deal. Hard cost: $0. Every company returned the deposits so they could rebalance their books.
