Alive e.V. is a non-profit organization committed to abolishing the death penalty. The task: to develop an online-campaign that raises awareness about the death penalty’s inhumane nature. We proved this using the example of Troy Davis, a man executed despite serious doubt and worldwide protests. To oppose this injustice, we brought Davis back to life through his handwriting. Using the letters he wrote from death row, we created a font. This allowed users to protest online in Davis’ original handwriting. The posts were printed and sent to President Obama giving additional weight to the campaign.
