Smile Makers is a range of vibrators, designed to sit on pharmacy shelves. The packaging needed to feel accessible and non-threatening, enabling women to place a vibrator in their baskets without anxiety, and also needed to create interest in the product without actually showing it. We employed an illustration style that is playful and seemingly innocent for the category, while being fairly suggestive as well. It had to communicate the nature of the product, its premium quality and its ability to entertain, all without the possibility of a pre- purchase inspection.
