Royal Shakespeare Company Stamps
Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Stamps / 2012
In these six stamps, Hat-trick Design captured the drama and energy of the Royal Shakespeare Company over its five decades. The stamps had to portray key productions while giving a sense of the groundbreaking, often avant-garde nature of RSC’s work. To that end, Hat-trick researched shots of iconic plays and actors that held their intensity at a small scale. Resonant quotes and play titles were then applied by illustrator and typographer Marion Deuchars, in her energetic style. The Queen’s head and value are a contrasting bright red – a nod to the RSC’s famous red theatre seats and logo.
