We were briefed to create an original sonic world for our characters trapped within ‘The Map’. Our challenge saw us create a unique soundscape, based around the glitches and errors lurking within computers and the digital world. We employed a variety of new and abstract sound techniques to reflect the film’s surroundings. Audio was crushed and degraded, dialogue chopped, spliced and pitched, and the final mix itself edited to add audio artefacts in common with the digital world. Everything combined to present the viewer with a new listening experience that enhanced the visuals of our story.
