PUMA Phone Packaging
Graphite Pencil / Packaging Design / Packaging Design / 2011
The packaging for the PUMA phone highlights the eco credentials of the world’s first solar powered mobile phone. The one-piece moulded pulp container is made from 30 per cent recycled newspaper and 70 per cent corrugated cardboard off-cuts, air dried to minimise energy in production. It even has a handle so you won’t need a bag, and you don’t have to worry about it getting wet as it is completely waterproof too. The minimal band uses vegetable inks and recycled paper stock. The packaging is the antithesis to the usual and supports the phone’s claim to be ‘not like all those other phones’.
