WERK No.17: Eley Kishimoto
Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Catalogues & Brochures / 2011
A collaboration between Eley Kishimoto and WERK magazine, this issue visually documents the personal journeys and work by Eley Kishimoto’s founders – Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto. Presented using photographs, sketches, musings and print designs, it echoes their code of conduct – one that does not succumb to trends and fads. The end result combines iconic Eley Kishimoto prints and fabric bundles with WERK’s artisanal perfect-imperfect craftsmanship. Featuring a cover that is made of four randomly selected fabrics secured with staples and tailor pins, WERK No.17 embodies the idea and inspiration of a textile work in progress.
