Speaker's School Council Awards: The Year Book
Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Catalogues & Brochures / 2011
The Speaker’s School Council Awards recognise excellence in school councils nationwide. Parliament’s Education Service ran a pilot competition to highlight a democratic approach in school council projects. The competition was hugely successful and a full identity system and yearbook were commissioned to commemorate the winning projects. The identity needed to appeal to three audiences: students (ages ranging from four to 19), their teachers, and politicians. Our solution focuses on the idea of group participation, one of the key messages. We collaborated with illustrator Tom Gauld. His work, with both a childlike quality and sophistication, appealed to all audiences.
