Revolution
Wood Pencil / Film Advertising Crafts / Animation for Film Advertising / 2011
Taking the life and death struggle for freedom and staging it in a theatrical, classical manner, we filled the screen with drama and detail. We looked to the masters – Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Delacroix – for inspiration. The backgrounds were painted like backdrops, the clouds of revolution boiling overhead in an El Greco style. We used the same techniques the Dutch Masters used to guide the viewer through the frame: controlling the lighting and manipulating the vanishing point while playing with depth and perspective. In the end we created something beautiful, artistic and theatrical while staying true to the spirit of the game.
