Mushi Battle Project
Wood Pencil / Websites / Websites / 2009
Our aim was to draw more people to Tokyu Hands (a department store which stocks a wide variety of raw materials) during a long holiday weekend when store traffic normally decreases. So we created a game using the resources available in Tokyu Hands called 'Mushi Battle'. The motto of Tokyu Hands is to encourage 'handcraft', and collecting insects is a popular hobby for kids in Japan. So we handcrafted mushi (bugs). An official website was launched. During the holiday, more than 3,000 kids and parents visited Tokyu Hands to create their own battling insects. Over 3,000 types of mushi were collected and shown on the mushi encyclopedia on the website, so kids could relive the memory of the event.
