This Year... 2009
Wood Pencil / Illustration / Graphic Design / 2009
This is the second in the series 'This Year...’ conceived as an annual New Year mailer from NB:Studio. We asked four illustrators to put a positive spin on the gloomy news surrounding the global economic meltdown. Each design was then lovingly screenprinted over the top of a real dollar bill to create a set of four limited edition prints signed by the artists. Each illustrator responded in a completely different way: James Joyce put a smile on George Washington's face; Billie Jean highlighted the biggest political event for over 40 years; Anthony Burrill gave an optimistic call to arms; and Paul Bower defaced the note with some irreverent playground humour.
