Paste Catalogue
Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Catalogues & Brochures / 2009
Not For Commercial Use is an ongoing promotional campaign by Build for the printers Generation Press. 'Paste' is the first in the series; it is an exploration of the relationship of print and graphic design, and of the response it can provoke from idle passers-by in the street. It ran anonymously for several months prior to the publication of the catalogue. As a campaign, 'Paste' was disparate in its nature, formed of a series of postcards, posters, postings, pastings, mailouts and virals which were at best ephemeral, and at worst unseen. Everything pointed to a website but nobody knew what notforcommercialuse.com was about or who was behind it. The 'Paste' catalogue was designed as the final piece, the story told. A chance to bring all the pieces together, to say thanks to all involved, to reveal, and have something beautiful to hold. Nothing in the series, including the catalogues, was sold, holding true to the project manifesto that everything should be 'Not For Commercial Use'.
