Mercè Rodoreda, The Death of Innocence
Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Catalogues & Brochures / 2009
The four major novels of celebrated Catalan novelist Mercè Rodoreda formed the theme of this literary exhibition. The exhibition was divided into four different rooms, with a room dedicated to each novel. We assigned a different colour to each novel/room, and used the number four as the basis for the graphic identity of the exhibition and all printed material. The catalogues were in Catalan, Spanish, French and English. When placed together, the title of the exhibition can be read across the four covers. The brief for the catalogue was that it had to inspire visitors to read Rodoreda’s novels. We created models of her novels, photographed them and placed them inside the catalogue, so the act of reading it would be like the act of reading the novels.
