Geopolitics of the Animation
Wood Pencil / Typography / Book Design / 2008
Geopolitics of the Animation is a bilingual publication dedicated to animation and its history, from its beginnings to contemporary times. The aim of the design is to mirror the essence of animation by overlapping images that produce the illusion of movement. On the cover the images are substituted with words. The title is written in Spanish and English with two different inks, magenta and blue, one on top of the other, creating the illusion of animation. The cover splits inside and each language appears with its colour in a continuous block, then a cut in the paper introduces the images. Black ink is used when both languages go together. Transparent paper is used in order to enhance the idea of movement.
