We found the pin idea in an early sketchbook the day we designed our company logo. To create the piece we designed a custom grid and used a large architect’s printer to plot the pin positions. We used different marks on the grid to show what colour pins to insert. In all it took over 4,000 pins and 48 hours to create the logo. During the process we developed a number of pin pushing techniques, which helped prevent our thumbs becoming numb!
