Tate Tracks
Wood Pencil / Integrated / Integrated / 2007
The brief was to bring 16 to 24-year-olds to Tate Modern. That's how we created Tate Tracks: an experiment between art and music. We invited several musicians to walk around Tate Modern to find a piece of work that would inspire them to write a music track. Chemical Brothers, Graham Coxon from Blur, Klaxons, Union of Knives, Roll Deep and many others took part, each choosing a piece of art that inspired them. After recording the tracks in the studio, we released the songs exclusively inside Tate Modern. We placed listening posts in front of the artworks, so people could listen to the tracks from where they originated.
