UK Japan 2008
Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Logos & Typefaces / 2007
For this project we were keen to find an idea that represented the collaboration of the two countries in a graphic way. Although the two languages are very different in their letter forms, we realised that the Kanji for 'nihonkoku' (land of the rising sun) could combine with the letters 'UK'. With a simple mark we are able to combine the two countries' names, in two different languages. Bilingual campaigns can sometimes end in boardroom compromise, so we were pleased with this result.
