New Blood Entry — The Unnatural Poetry
Google Fonts & The Typographic Circle / 2024
Google asked us to choose a poem and stress its words using Google's emerging fonts and typography. So, we literally eliminated all references to nature from the poems that, due to climate change, are in danger of disappearing forever.
What did the judges have to say?
Taken from recording - 'As nature dissapears, our levels will be lesser for it, and this entry was a beatiful articulation of this thought using typography. It didn't use too many images and was purely typgraphic, was professionally executed, and the typographic application really worked. It could expand to all corners of the world in all different languages, and there was no real end to the project. It answered every aspect of the brief in a beautiful, engaging manner. It's easy to see how this type could be applied with new technologies. A simple, charming and super emotive design which had a great additional piece of copywriting too - we really loved this work, congratulations and well done!

The brilliant idea of being written by an author and edited by climate change transcends lanuages - it's a simple mechaninc but has the potential to inspire countless poems. Congratulations!

Simplicity, emotion, clarity of thought and ability to translate at a global scale - all of this made this entry really stand out in the jury room. The design execution is incredibly striking, and we were happy to award this black pencil.
