When abortion was illegal throughout Scandinavia, young women used methods and instruments that raised no suspicion to practice self-induced abortion, such as knitting needles.
These women were uneducated, and the conditions were unsanitary and unsafe. As knitting has become a global trend, The Case For Her and Hey Jane see an opportunity to raise awareness and let the Faroese people know that abortion is healthcare.
