New Blood Entry — Protagonist

To challenge reading habits and make the reading process fun, Penguin will introduce Protagonist, a resource for young readers to connect with stories through characters that interest them. After students create a private profile, characters from recommended books in the Penguin library will show up on their screen. Kids can click on the character's bio to learn more about the book and the author who created them. If they swipe right on a character, the app will tell them where the book is available and how to get access to it. Protagonist’s algorithm challenges typical reading habits by placing books with diverse characters & authors at the forefront of their recommended reading. Penguin will introduce this resource at the end of the 2021 school year as a summer reading challenge program.
