New Blood Entry — Plastic Expiry Date
Connect4Climate / 2020
We created the Plastic Expiry Date sticker to help people choose more sustainable packaging options when buying their lunch. Since the UK buys 35.8 million plastic bottles every day, and doesn’t recycle 16 million of them, we targeted meal deals as one of the main culprits of daily single-use plastic sales. We’re used to checking expiry dates to make better decisions about what to eat, so we used plastic expiry dates to make better decisions about the packaging we choose to buy and to break our daily lunchtime plastic habit. By sharing the sticker templates online, we encouraged others to join in with some sticker activism of their own, resulting in the project being seen on national TV and globally through online coverage.
