The Internet has a massive environmental impact. Video streaming alone is responsible for 1% of global CO2 emissions. That’s equivalent to Spain’s yearly CO2 emissions.
Young people are the most hardcore streamers and they tend to stream in High Definition even when it’s totally unnecessary. Making the problem even worse.
That’s why we’re launching Green Definition.
A rebrand of Standard Definition (aka 480p). This setting consumes 80% less energy than HD and still looks great on most videos.
We’ll launch Green Definition on all major streaming platforms. So wherever young people stream, they’ll know they can help the planet with a single click.
