In Tokyo, blackouts are a major issue. Sometimes the city is left with no power for hours. adidas wants to help the city, but mostly wants to put Tokyo citizens in a position to help their community as well. They introduce Emc2: a new system combining a shoe that collects the energy produced by walking, and an innovative genkan station that stores such energy. In this way, citizens of Tokyo will be able to do something and provide actual help for facilities such as hospitals and so on. The simplest of acts for the biggest result.
