A city of local traditions infused with Dutch colonial influences, Medan is plagued by racial bigotry and lack of social awareness among its citizens. To solve these issues, we require something that transcends a passive visual identity.
Inspired by the locals' iconic greeting, "Ini Medan, Bung! or "This is Medan!" is an identity lead by a series of colorful localized comic characters - representing every citizens coming from all walks of life. Each and every color signifies a specific trait and nature of its citizen. Hence, the identity explores the intricacies of life and celebrates the diversity through colors.
