When approaching the It’s Nice That brief, we knew that we needed to find a way to make It’s Nice That a part of student’s every day life. When looking at a creative student’s life, we realized that they have demanding course schedules, thus limited time, and go through extreme “highs” and “lows” with their work. Students get discouraged. It became a question not of how students engage with It’s Nice That but how It’s Nice That engages with students?Taking after Bruce Mau’s ideas of “finding purpose in a product” rather than disrupting/interrupting, we created the Rise and Shine app. An alarm clock (with purpose) that also becomes the number one creative source for students...every single morning. More importantly, it starts the morning off right... by stimulating creativity and helps defeat the "lows" of the creative process.
