Project Convey
- DigitalHealth & Wellbeing
- DigitalUse of Data
Two years ago, most of life went online, and with it, so did a basic human need: connection. Many people shifted relatively quickly and easily to using video to connect to other people. However, for lots of people on the autism spectrum, video chat can be difficult, as it can be challenging to understand other people’s emotions or read non-verbal cues like facial expressions and tone of voice. As a solution, 180LA helped to create Project Convey, a video chat prototype that uses sentiment AI to translate human emotions into emojis in real-time, enabling people on the spectrum to understand and connect.
