To demonstrate how gun violence shatters the carefree innocence of youth, Sandy Hook Promise partnered with a brave team of 11 school shooting survivors to re-record Katy Perry’s famous ode to adolescence, Teenage Dream. Juxtaposed against the teenage survivors, the context of the original upbeat lyrics change and begin to eerily describe their traumatic experiences of gun violence.
