SF Arabic
- Type DesignMulti-Style
A contemporary interpretation of the Naskh style with a rational and flexible design, this extension of San Francisco serves as the Arabic system font on Apple platforms. SF Arabic features nine weights and a variable optical size axis that automatically adjusts spacing and contrast based on the point size of text. The design features contextual substitutions that work efficiently in compact interfaces. An extensive repertoire covers numerous vocalisation, tone and poetic marks, extended vowel signs, honorifics and Quranic annotations.

Comment from D&AD Community
"The design of SF Arabic provides an excellent answer to the question of what a contemporary Naskh typeface for the iPhone looks like. Its contribution is relevant not just on a design level but on a cultural one, because it shows that the Arabic language can live alongside current technology without looking antiquated."
