President's Lectures & Forums Spring 2008
Welcome to the D&AD Presidents Lectures
Spring/Summer 2008
I loved the last session and for this one, Im trying to cram in as many different disciplines as possible. The strength of D&AD is that it encompasses so many different professions, all coming together under the banner of excellence.
The mix of inspiration, family friends and competition rolls on. First out the block we have Nick Bell, Nick Bell Design in Manchester, buy tickets EARLY. Next is my entire digital field of friends in one almighty battle, we have kindly been given permission by Mark Dytham, Klein Dytham to hold a Pecha Kucha for the digirati. Its going to be a mental night.
Then, we have my fairy godfather Robert Greenberg, Uncle Bobs R/GA won the Black Pencil last year for Nike+ but I want him to show his film graphics and branding work. Everyone should see him in action once in their life. Sir Christopher Frayling, who I think is everyones favourite after dinner speaker, will be on the sofa being interviewed. And lastly the Dutch Embassy are kindly flying Experimental Jetset (SOLD OUT) over to give us some Amsterdam typographic love.
You can buy tickets online and, if youre a member, you can now see complete films of last year's lectures.
Please come and see someone you dont know as well as supporting your own.
yours,
Simon Waterfall
