Granta 110: Sex
Wood Pencil / Magazine & Newspaper Design / Magazine Front Covers / 2011
Granta magazine tackles numerous themes through literature and art. In this issue, we address the toughest topic of all – sex – from an array of angles. Granta 110 provides an example of how we try to use cover art to initiate dialogue and as the catalyst for branding universal topics. The cover was printed on a tactile, velveteen stock, playing on our sense of touch. We created three moving illustrations with the Institute for Eyes from stories in the issue. They’re housed in a breathing website by Theo Tillberg (www.thisisnotapurse.com), which makes further use of the cover art.
